Devotional Reflection
Standing at a crossroads is one of life's most anxiety-inducing experiences. Which path? Which choice? What if I get it wrong? The pressure of big decisions can be paralyzing. Yet God meets us precisely at these crossroads with a promise: 'I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go.'
Psalm 119:105 pictures God's word as a lamp for our feet—not a searchlight that illuminates the whole path at once, but a lamp that gives just enough light for the next step. God rarely reveals the full plan. He asks us to take the next faithful step in the light we have.
Proverbs 3:5-6 is perhaps the most direct promise of divine guidance in Scripture: 'In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.' The key phrase is 'in all your ways acknowledge Him.' Guidance comes through relationship, through submission, through saying, 'Lord, this is yours, not mine.'
God guides us through Scripture, through prayer, through the wise counsel of others, and through the inner witness of the Holy Spirit. He has promised to guide His sheep—and His promise is sure. If you have been asking for direction, keep asking. He hears.
A Prayer for Guidance
Father, I need Your guidance. I don't know which way to go, and I'm afraid of making the wrong choice. I surrender this decision to You. Guide me by Your Word, by Your Spirit, and through the wise voices You place in my life. Give me ears to hear You and a willing heart to obey. Lead me in the paths of righteousness for Your name's sake. Amen.
